Michael Clarke: Player snubs retirement, to make a comeback soon

India Blooms News Service | | 31 Jan 2016, 11:14 am
Victoria, Jan 31 (IBNS) Michael Clarke, the 31-year old ex-Australian cricketer is making a comeback to cricket after snubbing his retirement, according to sources.
cricket.co.au, Cricket Australia's official website reported that Clarke is making a comeback with his grade cricket club Western Suburbs on Feb 20.

He will play a match against Randwick-Petersham.

Clarke retired from all forms of cricket after the end of ICC Cricket World Cup last year.

Clarke was quoted as saying by News Limited, "To step away from cricket for four months has been great, I have found my body has enjoyed it and my mind has really enjoyed it too. At the same time I’ve realised the game of cricket is in my blood. I’ve been looking for an outlet to replace what I’ve chosen to walk away from."

He said that he wants to train in the upcoming months and take another chance at his favourite sport.

"So I’ll start with playing this grade game for Western Suburbs and see if I miss it as much as I feel like I’m going to. If I do, the option is there to train the entire winter and then we’ll see what happens," said he.

He also said that he would 'love to be a part of' the different T20 leagues in the world.

"There’s BBL next summer, I’d love to be a part of that, IPL, county cricket. There’s possibly even Sheffield Shield cricket for NSW."
