Mirpur, Feb 24 (IBNS) Asked to bat first by Bangladesh, India put up 166 runs in the inaugural match of the Asia Cup, here on Wednesday.

India lost 6 wickets in the process.

The visitors lost early wickets and were in a precarious position until a quickfire 50 plus partnership between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya bailed them out.

India could not not score 60 in the first 10 but made a strong comeback in the back ten.

Hardik played a crucial quickfire knock of 31 off 18 runs.

Sharma scored 81 runs.

India's skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit a six in the last ball of their innings to take the score to 166 runs.

For Bangladesh, Al-amin Hossain was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets.
