Pune, May 2 (IBNS): Rising Pune Supergiants team management would like to update that two of their Australian cricketers Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh are returning home midway of Indian Premier League season 9 due to injuries.

Cricket Australia has advised and confirmed through their statements that Steve Smith will return home from the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a wrist injury and Mitchell Marsh will return home due to a side strain. Rising Pune Supergiants team management announced the signing of George Bailey as a replacement.

During his stint with the Rising Pune Supergiants Steve Smith became the batting mainstay for the side besides his electric fielding which helped the team save vital runs. He also scored his maiden T20 century while playing in this edition of IPL.

The inclusion of Bailey will boost the team’s morale and expectantly lead the team into the reckoning as the tournament heads for the next stage.  Recently the team had announced the signing of Australian top order batsman Usman Khawaja.
