Jaipur, Jun 21 (IBNS): A 26-year old cricket succumbed to his injuries after he collided with two others while taking a catch in a game in Jaipur on Sunday, reports said.

The deceased has been identified as Bhanu Joshi, a resident of Chanderia village.

Joshi died in a hospital, following a grave head and liver injury.

In recent times, the sport has witnessed some morbid occurrences. In November 2014, Australian cricket Philip Hughes succumbed to his injuries after a bouncer hit him on the back of his head. Hughes' death forced several cricket bodies to review the safety standards.

Bengal club cricketer Ankit Kesari too died while taking a catch in April last year.
