Samridh Sen hits front at the Odisha Juniors 2016

Bhubaneswar, July 29 (IBNS): Siliguri lad Samridh Sen took the halfway lead at the Odisha Juniors 2016 after carding a 79 at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club here on Friday.

He leads Kolkata's Smito Snigdho Deb by two strokes going into the final round tomorrow. Armaan Parikh of Tatanagar is placed third a stroke behind at 82 followed by Souvik Nayak a further two strokes behind at 84.

Souvik leads Category B over Pratham Choudhary who will chance his arm in the final round being only two strokes in the arrears at 86. Ranchi's Shaurya Ekka is also in the hunt a further stroke behind.

 Joysurjo Dey once again justified his top billing in Category C as he leads second placed Aarnav Sharma by a clear four strokes after carding a 77. Close behind in third place is Biren Kumar who carded an 82 followed by Ramayush Ray four strokes behind at 86.

Category D was dominated by Manhar Bajoria who leads the rest of the field by as many as eleven strokes. The fight for the second place will be between second placed Kabir Mehta and third placed Gurmehr Bindra at 92 and 93 respectively.

In the girls' categories, Sushnata Deb looks likely to walk away with the title tomorrow barring some drama as she shot an 86. Likewise for Fizza Ali in Category C and Sinjini Mukherjee in Category D.

The combined category E is led by Prashant Agarwal by eight strokes over Ahaan Gupta after carding a nine-hole gross of 48.
