Ind-NZ: Jadeja, Vijay star in India's day of dominance
At the end of day's play, India are at 159 runs for the loss of one wicket in their second innings.
An encore from Murali Vijay and Cheteswar Pujara have allowed the team to thrive on their 107-run unbeaten partnership.
India also had a fruitful opening stand of 52 runs with KL Rahul going hammer and tongs after the Kiwi bowlers.
Rahul was sent back to the pavillion moments before tea, but what ensured was mayhem as the Indian batters scored seven boundaries in a space of 10 deliveries.
Pujara and Vijay both attacked the Kiwi bowlers and scored at a brisk pace until Neil Wagner was introduced to the attack.
The southpaw dished an array of short pitched balls to arrest India's momentum.
However, Pujara (50) and Vijay (64) hit the occasional boundary, attacking the spinners to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Earlier in the day, a dramatic collapse from New Zealand saw India take a handy 56-run lead.
From 238 for the loss of 5 wickets, they were bowled out for 262 runs as Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin shared 9 wickets among themselves.
Jadeja was the wrecker-in-chief picking up five wickets as Ashwin was one short of another fifer.
Umesh Yadav accounted for the remaining wicket.
