Hardik Pandya named in Indian squad for England series

Mumbai, Nov 2 (IBNS): Selectors on Wednesday named Hardik Pandya in the 15-member squad selected for the first two Test matches of the series against England.

Injured Rohit Sharma could not find a place in the squad.

Gautam Gambhir, who showed some form in the Test series against New Zealand, and Ishant Sharma were named in the sqaud.

Pandya has been the only new face in the side that will face England in the next few days. He has played  four ODIs and 16 Twenty20 Internationals in his career for India.

The first match of the five-match series will commence from  Nov 9 in Rajkot.

The team is as follows:

Virat Kohli (Captain), M Vijay, Gautam Gambhir, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (Vice Captain), R Ashwin, W Saha (Wk), R Jadeja, Amit Mishra, M Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Karun Nair, Jayant Yadav.
