Mumbai, Jan 6 (IBNS): Hailing former team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Test skipper Virat Kohli said that the former will always remain his captain.

Virat took to Twitter to thank Dhoni.

"Thanks for always being the leader a youngster wants to have around him. You'll always be my captain @msdhoni Bhai ," his tweet read.

The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup winning captain relinquished his post on Jan 4 in a shock move.

He had captained India in 199 ODI matches.

MS Dhoni is the only national captain to win all 3 major ICC tournaments, the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC World Twenty20 and ICC Champions Trophy.

Though the Ranchi lad has given up his captaincy post, he is available for selection as a batsman and a wicket-keeper.
