Sania Mirza and Dodig enter second round of Australia Open mixed doubles

Melbourne, Jan 21 (IBNS): Indian tennis star Sani Mirza and her mixed double partner Ivan Dodig of Croatia entered the second round of the Australian Open tournament in their category on Saturday, according to media reports.

They defeated defending champions Laura Siegemund and Mate Pavic 7-5, 6-4.

Mirza has also moved to the third round of the women's doubles category with her Czech partner Barbora Strycova after defeating the Australian-Chinese pair of Samantha Stosur and Shuai Zhang 6-1 6-4.

Earlier in the day, Rohan Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada moved to the second round defeating Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia and New Zealand’s Michael Venus.
