Third test : Australia all out for 451, Smith remains not out with 178
At lunch on the second day of their third test match against India, the visitors were 401 for seven.
The Aussies total could have been bigger had not spinner Ravindra Jadeja's late burst restricted them. Jadeja returned with a haul of five wickets for 124 runs.
Earlier in the day, resuming their innings on 299 runs, the unbeaten pair of Maxwell and Smith 32 runs more to the total before the former was caught by Saha off Ravindra Jadeja.
Maxwell departed for a well made 104 runs off 185 balls.
His maiden Test hundred comprised of nine fours and a couple of sixes.
Following Maxwell's dismissal, Smith forged another 64-run partnership with wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade, who departed for 37 runs.
Pat Cummins, who made a comeback to the Test side after a long gap, failed to disturb the scorers, as his innings only two balls.
Jadeja is by the best Indian bowler in the match, accounting for four of the seven Australian wickets.
Umesh Yadav has picked up a couple of wickets, followed by Ashwin, who has one to show for his efforts.
