U 17 World Cup Soccer match tickets to be sold on line from May 16
Interacting with media persons here, Ceppi said the price of the season tickets in each venue would be Rs.480 .00 ( rupees four hundred eighty ), Rs. 960. 00( rupees nine hundred sixty) and Rs.120.
But the price would continue to increase as the as the tournament comes closer, he added.
Ceppi informed that preparation for the forthcoming U 17 World Cup Football tournament at six venues of the country are progressing well.
Ceppi , who along with chief of security of the championship Deborah Doe inspected the various facilities in Salt Lake stadium, the venue for the final and nine other matches, told media persons, “ We are satisfied with the progress of preparatory work in Kolkata and other venues.”
Besides the final, Kolkata will also host nine other matches including a quarter final and play off for third place.
Tournament matches will also be held in New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Goa, Guwahati and Kochi.
Asked about the preparation at Kochi in Kerala which was lagging behind , Ceppi said Kochi has also come up and is now going on with the finishing touches. It would be ready in time to hold its matches, Ceppi said.
Ceppi said season tickets for the matches would be sold on line through FIFA website from May 16 and would continue till July 7 next initially..
This would be the first time that India would be holding a world cup soccer event. India automatically secured its place in the competition as tournament hosts.
Other countries that have already qualified for the U-17 World Cup include Iran, Iraq, Japan, North Korea, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia and New Zealand. Teams representing countries from Europe, North and Central America, the Caribbean and Africa will qualify in the coming months.
The draw for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 will take place on July 7 in Mumbai.
The championship will begin simultaneously at New delhi and Mubai on Otcober 6 and the final would be held at Kolkata on Oct 26 next.
