London, May 30 (IBNS): In the second warm up match of the men in blue, India thrashed Bangladesh by 240 runs ahead of the beginning of Champions Trophy, on Tuesday.

Indian batsmen displayed their skills with the willow to the full use as they posted massive 324 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the second warm-up match before the start of the Champions Trophy against Bangladesh here on Tuesday.

Despite losing opener Rohit Sharma (1) early, Shikhar Dhawan (60) showed signs of returning to form as he smashed seven boundaries in his 67-ball knock to give India a support at the other end when the side struggled at 2-21 after Ajinkya Rahane departed for 11.

Dinesh Karthik came down with a purpose and promised to contribute in the middle if given a chance during the main tournament as he scored 94 runs before retiring.

He hit eight boundaries and a six in his 77-ball innings.

Hardik Pandya (80*) hammered six boundaries and four sixes to help the score go past 300 runs mark at the end.

Ravindra Jadeja (32*) and Kedar Jadhav (31) contributed with their bats.

Rubel Hossain picked up three wickets for Bangladesh.

Chasing the 300 plus total, Bangladesh batting line up collapsed to only 84 in less than half of the total overs.

None of the batsmen could score decent runs for Bangladesh as the team kept on losing wickets in bulk at regular intervals.

Mehedi Hasan's 24 from 34 balls was the highest individual score in a short 84 runs innings of Bangladesh.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav were on the fire with the ball as they clinched three wickets of Bangladesh each.

India will take on Pakistan in their first match of the tournament on June 4.
