Kidambi Srikanth wins Australian Open Super Series title

Sydney, June 25 (IBNS): Continuing his brilliant form, Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth defeated Chen Long to win the title at men's singles event at the Australian Open Super Series on Sunday.

Srikanth defeated his opponent 22-20, 21-16.

The Indian player won his second consecutive super series title.

He last won the Indonesia Open Super Series title.

Srikanth showcased his skills strongly to defeat his opponent in the crucial match.

This was his first ever win against Chen Long.

"It's not easy to play 10 matches in 2 weeks and emerge on top every time. Kudos to @srikidambi's fitness and training! #AustraliaSS," BAI Media tweeted.

Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel‏ congratulated the Indian star and tweeted: "2nd successive Superseries title for @srikidambi. Defeats Olympic champ Chen Long 22-20, 21-16 to become #AustraliaSS winner! Proud of you!"
