Dambulla, Aug 20 (IBNS): Indian captain Virat Kohli made an unique gesture to welcome former skipper MS Dhoni to the nets as he is currently in Sri Lanka to play the limited overs series.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Kohli was seen welcoming the 2011 World Cup winning skipper to the nets by waving his own bat in the air like a helicopter blade.

In the video, Kohli was seen practising playing big shots in the nets.

India and Sri Lanka are currently playing the ODI series.

India defeated Sri Lanka in the Test series by 3-0 margin.

The BCCI tweeted :"Some big shots and a pep talk to wrap up the training session - @imVkohli @RaviShastriOfc #SLvIND #TeamIndia."

Dhoni stepped down as the skipper of the India team which made Kohli step into his shoes even as he was serving the Test side as the skipper for quite sometime now.
