PV Sindhu loses in World Championship final, settles for silver

Glasgow, Aug 27 (IBNS): Indian badminton star PV Sindhu failed to deliver in the final of the World Badminton Championships as she was defeated by her Japanese opponent here on Sunday.

Nozomi Okuhara defeated the Indian player 19-21, 22-20, 20-22 in the final match.

The final match witnessed strong fight between the two opponents.

Sindhu made her first final appearance in the World Championship on Sunday.

She had settled for bronze medal in the tournament in 2013 and 2014 where she was defeated in the semis.

She settled for silver this time.

India's other badminton sensation Saina Nehwal won bronze.

Congratulating Sindhu, BAI Media tweeted: "Heart-break for PV Sindhu. But we have just witnessed a match for the ages. 110 minutes of absolutely breath-taking badminton."
