Colombo, Aug 31 (IBNS): Riding on the centuries hit by skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, India posted a mammoth total of 375/5 in 50 overs in the fourth ODI match against Sri Lanka on Thursday.

After winning the toss, India came out to bat first but lost an early wicket in the form of Shikhar Dhawan.

It was then the two batsmen, Kohli and Rohit, made a 219 runs partnership to push the team to a strong position in the match.

Kohli looked aggressive throughout his innings as he scored 131 runs from just 96 balls. Rohit was dismissed at 104 (88) immediately after smashing the second hundred in the ongoing series.

While the Indian captain has hit 17 fours and 2 sixes in his 131 runs innings, Rohit went for 11 fours and 3 sixes all over the ground.

Though India lost too many wickets after the end of Kohli-Rohit partnership, it was former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and young Manish Pandey ensured a 350+ runs total on the board.

Dhoni, who played his 300th ODI match on Thursday, remained unbeaten at 49 (42). Pandey, however, scored a quick not out 50 at the end.

Sri Lankan bowlers failed to capitalise with the breakthrough upfront and went for too many runs throughout the innings.

Angelo Mathews was the best bowler for Sri Lanka with 2/24 in six overs.

Lasith Malinga picked up his 300th ODI wickets in the form of Kohli. Vishwa Fernando and Akila Dananjaya shared one wicket each.

India has already won the ODI series against Sri Lanka 3-0.
