US Open 2017: Roger Federer loses to Juan Martin del Potro, out of tournament

New York, Sep 7 (IBNS): Swiss tennis player Roger Federer crashed out of the tournament after losing to Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro in four sets.

Del Potro, the 24th seed, won against Federer 7-5 3-6 7-6 (10-8) 6-4, reaching the semi final of the US Open 2017.

The Argentine tennis player will now face top seed Rafael Nadal in the semi final.

Nadal made to the final four beating Russian Andrey Rublev.

After the win, Del Potro said: "This is like my home court. You make me feel so happy every time I play here and I love your support."

On the other hand, Federer, who was outplayed by his Argentine opponent, said: "It should hurt, it does. But with the season I've had, I have perspective on these losses. I'll be fine."
