Brendan Taylor gears up to return to Zimbabwe squad
Taylor had retired from international cricket and stopped playing for the nation side following the end of Zimbabwe's campaign in the 2015 World Cup.
Taylor had hit a century in the side's final group stage match against India.
"@ZimCricketv is pleased to announce we have formally contracted @BrendanTaylor86 to play cricket in and for Zimbabwe #WelcomeBack," the official Twitter handle of Zimbabwe Cricket said.
Speaking on his return, former cricketer Heath Streak was quoted as saying by the Twitter handle: "I am elated to have Brendan back in a Zimbabwe jersey. We welcome him back."
Taylor also confirmed the matter and said he is planning to finish his career in international cricket by playing for Zimbabwe.
"Just to clear the air,I am returning to represent my country again after 3 years and this time I plan to finish my career with @ZimCricketv," he tweeted.
Speaking on his decision to leave his county side in the UK, the cricketer said: "It is with a heavy heart i say goodbye to everyone @TrentBridge today. A place i will always keep very close to me! Thank you for having me!"
Taylor had signed a Kolpak deal with Nottinghamshire in 2015.
