India to play do-or-die ODI match against Sri Lanka today

Mohali, Dec 13 (IBNS): After being thrashed in the first ODI, India will play their do-or-die match against Sri Lanka in Mohali to survive on the ongoing bilateral series on Wednesday.

India were thrashed by Sri Lanka by seven wickets in Dharamshala on Sunday.

Sri Lankan bowlers have almost wrapped up the Indian batting well under 30 when former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a mesmerising 65 runs knock to save the team from an embarrassing total.

Except Dhoni, the scorecard of the Indian batting line up looked miserable.

Eventually Angelo Mathews (25*), Niroshan Dickwella (26*) and Upul Tharanga (49) managed to script a memorable victory for Sri Lanka in the Himalayan city.

Rohit Sharma is captaining India on the ongoing series in absence of regular captain Virat Kohli, who has been rested.

Sri Lanka lead the three-match ODI series 1-0.
