Bristol , Aug 24 (IBNS): After a 3-1 loss in the five-match Test series, India will face England in the one-day international series from Monday.

With criticisms hitting the side hard since their poor show in the five-day format, MS Dhoni's men will surely try to change the story in the limited overs series.

In culmination of the discussions among all the office-bearers of the BCCI over the last couple of weeks, the the Indian cricket board decided to avail the services of former India captain, Ravi Shastri, to oversee and guide the Indian cricket team for the one-day international matches against England

Duncan Fletcher continueed as Head Coach while Ravi Shastri will be the overall in-charge of cricket affairs of the Indian team.

In their continuing efforts to re-energise the support to the team, the BCCI has given a break to the bowling coach  Joe Dawes and the fielding coach  Trevor Penney, for the one-day series, and appointed  Sanjay Bangar, former Indian all-rounder, and former India fast bowler  Bharat Arun as the Asst. coaches of the team.

Ahead of the first match of the series from Monday, Dhoni has said Fletcher is  still the 'boss' of the Indian team.

Dhoni will expect his batsmen to click in the ODI series after they failed miserably in the Test matches.

India's key batsman Virat Kohli with his 71 and Ambati Rayudu (72) looked positive as India defeated Middlesex by 95 runs in a practice game on Friday.

Meanwhile,  Alex Hales  will make his 50-over England debut against India.

Cook and Hales will open the batting  against India in the series.

Speaking on the series against Dhoni's men, England skipper Alaister Cook was quoted as saying by  England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) website: " "A change of format will obviously do them good."

"We've got to remember they're world champions at 50 overs, so they obviously know what they're doing and will probably go into this as favourites," he said.

"But if we play well, we're hard to beat in our conditions," Cook said.
