Bhuvneshwar Kumar picks up four wickets, India bowl out South Africa for 286 runs
Cape Town, Jan 5 (IBNS): Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up four wickets as India bowled out South Africa for 286 runs on the first day of the first Test match here on Friday.
Keshav Maharaj (35) and Kagiso Rabada (26) tried to give tough resistance to the Indian bowlers late in the innings.
Maharaj hammered three boundaries and a six in his crucial knock.
Rabada put up a smart fight of 66-ball 26.
He hit one boundary.
Bhuvneshwar (4/87) destroyed the top order of South Africa with his strong bowling performance.
Removing Dean Elgar (0) and Aiden Markram (5), and then Hashim Amla (3) early, Kumar gave South Africa a strong jolt to leave them struggling at 3-12.
Former captain Ab de Villiers (65) and skipper Faf du Plessis (62) added some resistance to the innings and put the ship in order after initial jolts.
