Melbourne, Jan 26 (IBNS): Swiss Tennis master Roger Federer on Friday moved to the final of the Australian Open after his opponent in the semi-final- South Korean Hyeon Chung- retired hurt here.

The match ended after the South Korean retired in the second set of the clash.

The Swiss led 6-1 5-2 when the South Korea retired from the clash.

Federer will now meet  Croatian sixth seed Marin Cilic in the final of the tournament.

The Swiss Tennis star is seeking a sixth Australian and 20th Grand Slam title.

“I’ve played with blisters in the past and it hurts. A lot,” a sympathetic Federer told the tournament website.

He said: “At some point, it’s just too much and you just can’t take it anymore, and when you realise there’s no way you can come back and you make things really worse, it’s better to stop."

Federer said,"That’s why this one is bittersweet. I’m really happy to be in the finals, but not like this.”
