India beat South Africa by 28 runs in Johannesburg

Johannesburg, Feb 18 (IBNS): India defeated South Africa by 28 runs in the first T20I match at the New Wanderers here on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 204, South Africa could manage to score 175/9 in 20 overs.

Reeza Hendricks (70) and Farhaan Behardein (39) were the top scorers for South Africa.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a brilliant performance with ball for India as he clinched five wickets conceding 24 runs in 4 overs.

Earlier losing the toss, India came out to bat and scored 203/5 in 20 overs.

Shikhar Dhawan was the top scorer for India with an aggressive knock of 72 from 39 balls.

Debutant Junior Dala was the most successful bowler for South Africa with a figure 2/47 in 4 overs.
