Angelo Mathews to miss Hero Nidahas Trophy due to injury

Colombo, Feb 27 (IBNS): Sri Lankan cricketer Angelo Mathews will miss the upcoming Hero Nidahas Trophy 2018 due to injury.

The tournament will commence from Mar 6.

Sri Lanka Cricket selected a 20 member preliminary squad to choose the final 15 member Squad to take part in the Hero Nidahas Trophy.

Dinesh Chandimal has been named the skipper of the squad.

The final 15 member squad would be announced on Feb 28, announced the Sri Lankan Cricket on Wednesday.

Angelo is not a part of it.

"Angelo Mathews was not considered for selection, as he is still recovering from the injury, he suffered during the concluded Tri-Nation Series in Bangladesh," read an official statement released by the board on Tuesday.
