India's World Cup winning skipper MS Dhoni placed in second tier in new BCCI player contracts

Mumbai, Mar 7 (IBNS): In a major move, the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Wednesday announced the Annual Player Contracts for the period from October 2017 to September 2018 where World Cup winning skipper and cricket icon MS Dhoni has been moved to the  second tier, below skipper Virat Kohli.

Dhoni has been shifted to the  Grade A section in the  new payment structure announced  by the Committee.

In the top section, Grade A+, five Indian players have been kept.

In the top grade section, skipper Kohli has been placed with Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.

Mohammed Shami could not feature in any of the categories of gradation.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Wriddhiman Saha have been placed in the Grade A section.

Rs. 7 crore each will be paid to players in the Grade A+ section.

Players in Grade A will get Rs.  5 crore.

In the Grade B, where players will be paid Rs. 3 crore, players like KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma and Dinesh Karthik have been kept.

Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Karun Nair, Suresh Raina, Parthiv Patel and Jayant Yadav have been kept in Grade C.

They will be paid Rs. 1 crore each.
