Sydney, Apr 8 (IBNS): Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke has said that his 'comeback' story as published by a news report was 'out of control'.

He said he has not made any offer to Cricket Australia that he will comeback and play cricket for the national side.

He said he wants to help Australian team in any way he could which might even include mentoring the under 14s side.

"This article is out of control! Let me make very clear that I have not sent any formal offer to James Sutherland to come back and play cricket. I sent him a message as a friend offering to help Australian cricket in ANY way I could (this could mean mentoring the under 14s)," Clarke tweeted.

"I won’t be batting in the nets in India in preparation for a comeback and as I have always said the game owes me nothing, I owe it everything. Have a great Sunday ," he said.

Australian cricket was hit badly when a ball-tampering scam emerged during the third Test between the current World Cup champions and South Africa.

The incident eventually led to the resignation of former skipper Steve Smith.
Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft were also banned from playing international cricket for certain period of time.

Smith and David were handed 12 months ban from playing international cricket.

Cameron Bancroft has been banned from playing international cricket for nine months.
