CWG: Wrestlers Sushil Kumar, Rahul Aware win gold

Gold Coast, Apr 12 (IBNS): India's gold rush continued at the ongoing Commonwealth Games as veteran wrestler Sushil Kumar clinched the yellow medal in the men's 74 kilogram category.

Sushil was one of the major hopes of India in the arena of wrestling.

Keeping his promise of winning a medal for the country, Kumar clinched gold as he overpowered Johannes Botha of South Africa by technical superiority in the final. 

With the victory, India won 14th gold medal in the ongoing CWG.

Apart from Sushil, wrestler Rahul Aware of India also won the yellow medal in the   men's 57 kilogram category.

The Indian Olympic Association tweeted: "And #TeamIndia has a new #GC2018 #CommonwealthGames #Champion! #RahulAware wins his most deserved Gold in the Men's Freestyle 57 kg defeating #StevenTakahashi of #TeamCanada in #GC2018Wrestling by a lead of 8 points! #Congratulations ."

He beat Steven Takahashi of Canada 3-1 in the final to grab the medal.
