IPL 2018: Rajasthan Royals beat Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs

Jaipur, May 9 (IBNS): Ajinkya Rahane-led Rajasthan Royals defeated Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 159, Punjab could score 143/7 in 20 overs.

KL Rahul, who fought a lone battle with bat, remained not out at 95 (70). He has hit 11 fours and two sixes in his 70-ball innings.

Earlier riding on Jos Butler's 82, Rajasthan scored 158/8 in 20 overs.

Punjab's Andrew Tye picked four wickets conceding 34 runs in four overs.

Despite the loss, Punjab are in safe position to qualify for the play-offs. With 12 points from 10 matches, Ravichandran Ashwin's Punjab are at third spot in the points table.

Rajasthan are at sixth position with eight points from 10 matches.
