Mumbai, May 16 (IBNS): Defeating Kings XI Punjab by three runs here on Wednesday, Mumbai Indians kept their hopes alive to reach the playoffs in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mumbai have successfully defended their total of 186/8 in 20 overs.

Falling short of three runs from Mumbai's total, Punjab scored 183/5 in 20 overs.

Punjab's KL Rahul scored 94 off 60 balls.
