Bengaluru, Jun 14 (IBNS): Riding on an aggressive century by Shikhar Dhawan, India scored 158/0 in the first session of an one-off Test match against Afghanistan at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Thursday.

Dhawan remained unbeaten at 104 (91 balls) at lunch. His innings so far comprises 19 fours and three sixes.

Dhawan's opening partner Murali Vijay stood steady at the other end with his 41 off 72 balls.

The one-off Test match marked the beginning of Afghanistan's journey in the longest format of the sport.

This is the first time Afghanistan players are wearing their official white jerseys on field.

India are having right-handed batsman Ajinkya Rahane as the skipper for the Test match in absence of Virat Kohli.

Kohli had pulled himself out of the Test match to play county cricket, as a preparation for the upcoming England series.

However Kohli later suffered a injury to miss his county stint.
