Islamabad, June 25 (IBNS): Pakistan Cricket Board's Anti-Corruption Unit has summoned cricketer Umar Akmal after he claimed that he was approached to fix matches.

He has been directed by the unit to appear before it on Wednesday.

The statement issued by the PCB said, "PCB's Anti Corruption Unit (ACU) has summoned Test cricketer Umar Akmal on June 27."

Umar earlier claimed that he has been offered money to fix matches whenever Pakistan has played against India.

"They offered me $0.2 million to leave two balls in the cricket World Cup," he said in an interview with SAMAA TV. "An offer was also made in the 2015 edition of the tournament as well."

"They come up to me and tell me that they will pay me if I miss or opt out of a game," he told the Pakistani media.

Akmal, however, clarified that he is dedicated towards his nation and refused to perform such acts.

"I told them that I am very dedicated to Pakistan and that they should not talk about such things with me," Akmal said.
