Bulawayo, July 20 (IBNS): Pakistan's opening batsmen Fakhar Zaman (210*) and Imam-ul-Haq (113) created history as they shattered an old record of highest opening wicket stand in ODI cricket during the fourth match against Zimbabwe.

Rewriting pages in history books, the two batsmen contributed 304 runs in the opening wicket stand.

The partnership was finally broken by  Wellington Masakadza.

Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga had once put up a strong first wicket partnership of 284 runs against England in 2006.

The Pakistani openers on Friday shattered the record set by Sri Lankans 12 years ago.

Fakhar Zaman also became the first Pakistani batsman to touch 200-runs mark in ODI cricket.

He hammered 24 boundaries and five sixes in his 156-ball knock.

Pakistan posted 399 runs for the loss of a wicket in 50 overs.
