Mohammad Ashraful's ban coming to an end, hopes to return to international cricket
Dhaka, Aug 10 (IBNS): Bangladesh cricketer Mohammad Ashraful has expressed his hopes international return as his five-year ban for involvement in match-fixing and spot-fixing in the 2013 Bangladesh Premier League officially ends on Aug 13.
He will now be eligible to play international cricket once again.
Ashraful said he has been waiting for the day for the past five years.
"I have been waiting for August 13, 2018 for a long time now," Ashraful told ESPNcricinfo.
He said: "It has been more than five years since the day I admitted my involvement. Although I have played domestic cricket in the last two seasons, there is now nothing preventing me from being eligible for national selection. Playing for Bangladesh again will be my greatest achievement."
