Asian Games: Tajinderpal Singh Toor clinches gold in men's shot

Jakarta, Aug 25 (IBNS): Making India proud, Tajinderpal Singh Toor won gold in men's shot on day 7 of Asian Games 2018 here on Saturday.

Toor threw the iron ball to 20.75m to win the gold.

Earlier, Saurav Ghosal settled for bronze medal after he lost his semi-final clash of the Asian Games Squash men's singles event.

The Indian player was defeated 12-10 13-11 6-11 6-11 6-11 by Chun Ming Au from Hong Kong.

Ghosal took an early lead and kept the pressure on his opponent in all the sets but ultimately surrendered in the final round of the clash.

Squash players Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Joshana Chinappa settled for bronze medals after they were defeated in their respective women's singles semi-final clashes.

Dipika Pallikal Karthik surrendered 0-3 (7-11, 9-11, 6-11) to former World No.1 Nicol David of Malaysia.

She is the current defending champion.

Malaysian Sivasangari Subramaniam defeated the other Indian player by 1-3 (5-11, 10-12, 11-5, 10-12).

Both the Indians settled for a bronze medal each.
