Rajkot, Oct 4 (IBNS): Indian's latest entrant to Test cricket, 18-year-old Prithvi Shaw has scored a century on debut in test cricket on the first day of the inaugural match against the Windies to join a select group of illustrious crickets.

Shaw, who hails from Mumbai, took 99 balls to complete the feat.

By virtue of his hundred, he became the seventh youngest cricketer  to score a century in Test cricket.

Earlier this year, he lifted the Under-19 cricket world cup, captaining his side to victory against Australia in the final.

The youngster has been in red hot form throughout the domestic season, scoring hundreds at ease.

Shaw's partner, Cheteshwar Pujara in not out at 68, while India have put on a 176 runs for the loss of a wicket.

Earlier in the day, KL Rahul got out without troubling the scorers, after India's skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and asked his men to bat first.
