Rajkot Test: India 364/4 at stumps on day 1; Prithvi Shaw shines
Rajkot, Oct 4 (IBNS): Riding on a heroic hundred by debutant Prithvi Shaw, India ended their first day's play of the opening Test match against Windies at 364/4 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Thursday.
Shaw scored 134 off 154 balls. He has hit 19 fours in the innings.
Though KL Rahul was dismissed early for a duck, the Indian batting order aptly supported Shaw to take India to a comfortable position.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who had a 206-run partnership with Shaw for the second wicket, scored 86 off 130 balls.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli remained not out at 72 when the umpires called off the day's play.
Along with Kohli, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is at the crease scoring 17 runs.
Kohli's deputy Ajinkya Rahane played a knock of 41 runs.
Shannon Gabriel, Sherman Lewis, Devendra Bishoo and Roston Chase shared one wicket each for Windies.
