Adelaide, Dec 6 (IBNS): Cheteshwar Pujara is continuing his lone battle for India as the visitors scored 143/6 at tea on day 1 of the first Test match against Australia at Adelaide Oval here on Thursday.

Pujara is still batting at 46.

Rohit Sharma, even after getting a start, virtually thrown his wicket by trying to play a big shot. He scored 37.

Rishabh Pant, who was looking promising against the Aussie pace attack, was dismissed by Nathan Lyon at 25.

All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is still at the crease along with Pujara.

Josh Hazlewood and Lyon so far shared two wickets each.
