Perth Test: Hanuma Vihari fights for India, visitors struggle at 112/5 against Australia
Perth, Dec 17 (IBNS): Chasing a target of 287 runs, India scored 112/5 at stumps on day four of the second Test match at Perth Stadium here on Monday.
India still need 175 runs to win the match.
Hanuma Vihari is still at the crease scoring 24 off 58 balls. Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who scored nine so far, is along with Vihari.
Just minutes before the end of the day's play, India had lost Ajinkya Rahane, who was dismissed at 30.
Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon shared two wickets each for Australia.
Earlier on Monday, Australia were bowled out by India for 243.
Usman Khawaja was the top scorer for Australia in the second innings. He scored 72 off 213 balls.
Indian pace bowler Mohammad Shami clinched six wickets for 56 in 24 overs.
While Jasprit Bumrah picked up three wickets, Ishant Sharma clinched one.
Australia had scored 326 in the first innings. In reply, India had scored 283.
