Indian team management announces 13-men squad for Sydney Test, R Ashwin added

India Blooms News Service | @indiablooms | 02 Jan 2019, 03:59 am

Sydney, Jan 2 (IBNS): Adding R Ashwin in the squad, Indian team management on Wednesday named 13-men team for the Sydney Test which will decide the fate of the series.

"The team management will take a final decision on R Ashwin’s availability on the morning of the Test match," the Indian cricket board said in a statement.

India are currently 2-1 up in the series.

India's top spinner Ashwin, who suffered an abdominal strain on the fourth day of the opening Test in Adelaide, trained on Tuesday but it seems that he has still not recovered from the situation.

It might be the third straight Test where Ashwin will need to sit on the beach.

Ravindra Jadeja, who performed strongly in Melbourne, is likely to retain his position.

A full team is given below:

Virat Kohli (C), A Rahane (VC), KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, C Pujara, H Vihari, R Pant, R Jadeja, K Yadav, R Ashwin, M Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav
