India thrash New Zealand in second T20I by 7 wickets, level series

Auckland, Feb 8 (IBNS): India outplayed New Zealand by seven wickets in the second T20I match at Eden Park here on Friday.

India leveled the three-match T20I series 1-1.

Chasing a target of 159, India scored the required runs with seven balls to spare.

Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 50 while young Rishabh Pant remained not out at 42.

In 18.5 overs, India scored 162/3.

Winning the toss and batting first, New Zealand scored 158/8 in 20 overs.

Two middle-order batsmen, Colin de Grandhomme and Ross Taylor, scored 50 and 42 respectively.

Krunal Pandya was the best bowler for India as he picked three wickets for 28 in four overs.

Khaleel Ahmed clinched two wickets for 27 bowling his full quota.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya shared one wicket each.
