Kolkata, Oct 7 (IBNS): With the countdown for the inaugural edition of Indian Super League well and truly on, Atletico de Kolkata is getting ready to invade homes through the idiot box. As part of its build-up the Kolkata franchise is shooting three commercials that will be aired on television to build brand loyalty and fan base.

Bengali filmmaker Riingo Banerjee,  known for his technical expertise and stylish presentation, has been given the task of creating the television commercials.

There will be three separate promos. The first one will feature none other than Sourav Ganguly with the theme Gods of Football. “It is shot in a surreal manner where Sourav as the guardian of football is keeping a watch over the proceedings on the pitch as the team prepares to take on the opponents,” said a source close to the team.

The second commercial will feature a story of street kids showing off their skills and getting a chance to play with the marquee players in the Atletico de Kolkata squad. The theme being that football fills the nook and cranny of the city. The third commercial will show the city moving towards Salt Lake Stadium, the home ground for the franchise, with the team’s banners, festoons and standards with the theme of “We are with you.”.

While the first commercial is almost being shot, the second and third will be completed by the middle of this month.

A former ad-man and head of Ogilvy, Riingo has 12 films under his belt and many international and national awards.
