New Delhi, Apr 21 (IBNS):Close on the heels of having signed a MOU with the Japan Football Association in February 2015, the All India Football Federation entered into another significant partnership with DFB (German Football Association) in Goa on Tuesday .

AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das signed on the dotted lines with Markus Weidner, Director Coach Education and International Relationship, DFB.

The partnership aims at technical collaboration with emphasis on Coach Education, Grassroots Programme and Youth Development.

Besides delegates from FIFA, Indian National Team Head Coach Stephen Constantine and Technical Director Scott O’Donell were also present, as was Shaji Prabhakaran, FIFA Regional Development Officer for South and Central Asia.

Weidner mentioned that the DFB were “delighted” to enter into this agreement.

“We are delighted to enter into this co-operation agreement with AIFF. The appointment of Mr. Nicolai Adam as the Head Coach of the India U-17 National Team which will be playing in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017 is the first step in our co-operation,” he told www.the-aiff.com

Das highlighted the significance of having DFB on board.

“It’s an extreme honour to enter into an agreement with the German Football Association. This partnership will usher in an overall technical development for Indian Football,” he said.

“It is always best to learn from the best. Germany are the World Champions and that they have been the most consistent Team in the World speaks about their approach to the game. Indian Football will only further benefit from here on.”
