Arunachal shines in 22nd Junior National Wushu Championship, securing bronze, silver and gold

Itanagar/IBNS: Arunachal Pradesh showcased its prowess in the 22nd Junior National Wushu Championship held in Patna, Bihar from 6 to 11 August, securing a commendable tally of six medals.

The state athletes clinched one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals, affirming their competitive mettle on the national stage, reports The Arunachal Times.

Toku Apung emerged as a standout performer, securing an impressive trio of medals. Apung's accomplishments included a coveted gold medal in the Nandao event, alongside two bronze medals in the Nanquan and Nangun categories.

Chera Loku, another remarkable athlete from Arunachal Pradesh, added to the state's medal haul with a silver medal in the Taijijian event and a bronze medal in the Taijiquan competition.

Adding to the triumphs, Ngamrang Joham contributed by securing a bronze medal in the Sanda event within the under 56 kg weight category. The collective efforts of these dedicated athletes were expertly guided by the coaching prowess of Bangram Tungi.

The technical oversight was provided by Kishen Chetia and Tai Kaya.

Commending the exceptional achievement of the Arunachal Pradesh contingent, President Tach Tadar of the All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association (AAPWA) extended his heartfelt congratulations.
