Asiad badminton men's doubles: Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty into finals, beating Malaysia in straight sets

Hangzhou: Shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty thrashed Malaysia's Aaron Chia and Soh WY in the men's doubles semi-final at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.

With this India is assured of at least a silver medal in men's doubles badminton.

The Indian pair dominated the match, clinching the win with a 21-17, 21-12 scoreline in just 45 minutes.

Chirag's exceptional performance in the final game, marked by powerful smashes, led to a decisive 21-12 victory, securing the match in straight games.

Satwik and Chirag now advance to the gold medal match where they will face South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Choi Solgyu.

The duo will be the second Indian pair to secure a medal since Leroy D'sa and Pradeep Gandhe claimed bronze in the 1982 Asian Games.
