Bumrah picks up five wickets, India restrict Sri Lanka at 217/9

Kandy, Aug 27 (IBNS): Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah shinned with the ball as he picked up five wickets to restrict Sr Lanka at 217 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the third ODI of the series here on Sunday.

Except, Lahiru Thirimanne (80) and Dinesh Chandimal (36), who formed a small partnership of 50 runs after the initial collapse, the remaining batting line up failed to impress.

Bumrah remained the pick of the Indian bowlers as he kept knocking down Sri Lankan wickets at crucial junctures of the match to keep the hosts away from dominating over the visitors.

Sri Lankan batsmen failed to score freely in the match.

Impressive Bumrah scripted his  maiden five-wicket haul and ended the day on a high note with  the figures of 5/27 in 10 overs.
Hardik Pandya,

Axar Patel and Kedar Jadhav picked up a single wicket each.

India are already 2-0 up in the series.

A victory today will ensure India a series win.
