Can't wait to get started: Rohit Sharma ahead of India-WI ODI series

| @indiablooms | Feb 02, 2022, at 07:21 pm

Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma seems excited for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) series against West Indies as the skipper will be back in action after missing out the South African tour owing to injury.

Sharma shared a post on Instagram saying, "Can’t wait to get started…."

The upcoming ODI series, which begins on Feb 6, will be Sharma's first assignment as a full time captain in the 50 overs cricket.

After Virat Kohli stepped down as the T20 captain last year, Sharma was appointed as the limited overs skipper, stripping the former of the captaincy in the 50 overs cricket.

After the defeat in the hands of South Africa, Kohli stepped down as Test captain as well though his successor is yet to be announced.

In absence of Sharma, vice captain KL Rahul led India in the ODI series against South Africa.
