Champions Trophy 2025: Injury scare for Team India as Rishabh Pant hit on left knee ahead of opener

Dubai/IBNS: India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was hit on his left knee during the team's practice session causing injury scare just a few days ahead of the men-in-blue's inaugural match against Bangladesh in Champions Trophy 2025.

Pant was hit during drills at ICC Academy in Dubai on Sunday.

He was down on the ground when a whack by his teammate Hardik Pandya hit him on left knee.

The medical team immediately rushed to his aid and he slowly recovered thereafter.

Later, both Pant and Pandya hugged each other, subsiding some tension on the ground as the wicketkeeper-batter is one of the important players of the team, which is currently buoyant by the triumph over England at home.

The two-time Champions Trophy winner will face Bangladesh in their first match on February 20 and then proceed to take on arch-rival Pakistan on February 23.

Pakistan is the defending champion as the South Asian giant cricket team won in 2017 defeating then Virat Kohli's India.
