Chess: Chandreyee scored all win record
On the final day on Friday, she could have easily taken a break from last few days hard battleship by splitting point with her opponent Sudipa Halder, as title was in her pocket.
Instead Chandreyee was determined to make it all win record and she did it by beating Sudipa in the last round to score 9 points out of 9.
Sammriddha Ghosh became runners up with a last round win against Pousumi Maity. Sammriddha and Angira Choudhury had 7 points each, but the former had better tie break score to finish above Angira.
In the Boys section, 3rd seed Saptorshi Gupta emerged champion via better tie break against Arka Sengupta as both finished at 7.5 points.
The DPS Ruby Park 37th State Sub junior (Boys & Girls U 15) saw some hard fought battles in the Boys category, as 6 players were vying for the title in the 9th and last round.
On the top board 3rd seed Saptorshi Gupta did not take chance against his rival 2nd seed Sarbojit Paul and split point, as he had advantage in the progressive score.
He was not confirmed about the title.
If top seed Koustav Chatterjee could beat his rival Arka Sengupta, the final result would go for tie-break.
But Arka Sengupta did a fine job to earn full point against Koustav and helped Saptorshi Gupta had the last laugh. Sarbojit Paul, Sudarshan Mitra, Aronyak Ghosh took the next three positions.
