Federer defeats Stan Wawrinka to win BNP Paribas Open

Indian Wells (California), Mar 20 (IBNS): Swiss tennis master Roger Federer defeated Stan Wawrinka to clinch the fifth BNP Paribas Open crown on Sunday.

Federer defeated his opponent  6-4, 7-5.

The Swiss endured a six-month injury lay-off at the end of 2016, but returned to the tour at the start of the season with victory at the Australian Open.

"For me, the dream run continues," Federer was quoted as saying by the BNP Paribas Open website.
