Chennai, Dec 20 (IBNS) : Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes appeared to have steadied England as the visitors scored 167 for four at tea after losing three quick wickets on the fifth day of the last cricket test match against India on Tuesday.

At crease, Ali and Stokes were not out respectively with 32 and 13 with the team still trailing by 115 runs after India declared their second innings at 759 for seven.

After a solid start by the opening partnership, Alastair Cook (49) was first to go at the team's total of 103 to be followed by top order batsmen Keaton Jennings (54), Joe Root (6)  and Jonny Bairstow (1) with only 26 more runs being added to the total.

Indian spinner-all rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who drew the first blood by picking up Cook's wickets, picked up Jennings and Root as well while pacer Ishant Sharma dismissed Bairstow.
